Décorslats
Timber battens are currently on trend, but architects are struggling to comply with fire requirements while staying within budget. The Décorslat panelised slat system is an ideal solution. Achieving a Group 1-S fire rating, and offering options in real timber veneer and paint finishes, designers can create a dynamic, elegant and striking space utilising the look of timber battens.
-
Décorslat panelised slat systems are available in a standard 2400 x 1200mm panel or can be sized to suit project requirements.
-
Designers can choose from our standard slat range or customise the size of the face slats and the spacing in-between to create a bespoke look. Depending on the desired result finishes can be specified from Big River Panels large range of real timber veneers or from our extensive colour range for an eye-catching paint-finish.
-
As the DécorSlat panels are supplied pre-finished, the need for onsite construction and messy intumescent painting is eliminated. This ensures fast installation and lower onsite costs.
-
Perfectly paired with our Whispa Range, Whispa is a lightweight decorative, acoustic panel with a smooth felt-like finish. Designed to control unwanted noise in interior spaces and provides a decorative surface. Whispa panels are made from 100% polyester fiber.

Hole Perforation
There are 11 standard hole patterns ranging from 5–30% open areas, achieving NRC values up to 0.85. Hole sizes vary from 5–25mm in diameter, with pitches of 13.5 or 27mm. Customised versions can be created to meet any project requirements, including routing to custom sizes and supplying negative edge details and specialist edge details such as mitres, rebates, and drop-in tile profiles.
Data sheets are available for all standard perorations that advise open areas and NRC values for all panels. Talk to us today about how to achieve the open area you require for your project.
-
Substrates available are painted or Real timber veneer MDF or Firesafe MDF (Group 1s), or Firesafe Plywood. See our Technical Specification Sheets for more information on these substrates.
-
All panels come with Decoustic 85 felt bonded to the back as standard. Acoustic blanket can also be provided if required. All Décortech panels are prefinished saving time and cost onsite and reducing potential issues such as spills, overspray or damage.
-
Shop drawings are done for all our panels prior to manufacturing allowing panels to be reviewed and changed as necessary before manufacture.

There are 9 standard slotted patterns ranging from 14 – 25% open areas and can achieve NRC values up to 0.80. Slots vary from 68-450mm in length and between 3 and 16 rows per panel.
Slot widths are a minimum of 10mm on Plywood panels, 8mm slots are standard on all other substrates.
Slotted perforations can have stepped slots for a concealed fixing option. Big River Panels can also create customised versions to fulfil any project requirements and can rout to custom sizes as well as supplying negative edge details and specialist edge details such as mitres, rebates, and drop in tile profiles.

Multigroove Perforation
Multigroove perforations are available as either an acoustic perforation (minimum 15mm thick substrate) or as a decorative panel with Face grooves only (12mm thick substrate). The face appearance of the acoustic and decorative Multigroove is exactly the same.
There are a number of standard options available with square edge or ship lapped edge details. The Multigroove perforation can also be customised so talk to us about other options. Multigroove is available as standard in 2400 x 1200mm sheet sizes however panels sizes are fully customisable and can be tailored to fit any space.

Custom Routing
Big River Panels can rout custom designs, company names or logos into plywood or MDF panels. Standard panels sizes are 1200 x 2400mm MDF or Firesafe MDF of 12mm thickness. Panel sizes may vary depending upon design constraints. Below are some examples of what can be achieved.
Custom designs are available to manufacture upon consultation with our Design team.
Concept Tiles
Concept tiles are designed to fit into standard 24mm 2-way exposed suspended ceiling systems, including existing installations. Concept Tiles are easily installed as well as easily removed allowing for easy access to services. Exposing the grid systems creates an attractive detail.
Concept tiles are available in:
600 x 600 x 12mm and 600 x 1200 x 12mm painted or veneered Firesafe or standard MDF.
Big River Panels can also create customised versions of the Concept tiles to fulfil any project requirements and can rout to custom sizes as well as creating cut outs for sprinklers, lights or any other service penetrations required.
Standard Ceiling Tiles Designs
All standard perforations can be modified and provided in Concept tile form as well as the patterns below.

Prestige Tiles
Prestige is a tile system that fits into standard 24mm suspended ceiling grids. An extended tongue on the long edge of the panel completely covers the grid in that plane, creating a single-rail look with all the advantages of a removable tile system. If a rail-free look is required, then the short edge rails can be replaced by Strongbacks. This option does not allow tiles to be removed in their own space, however they can all be removed if required.
Prestige tiles are available in:
599 x 599 x 16mm and 599 x 1199 x 16mm when creating a fully concealed grid or 1174 x 599 x 16mm when leaving a 1 way grid exposed.
Prestige Tiles come in painted or veneered Firesafe or standard MDF. Either non perforated or in a number of acoustic perforations including Bubble, Portcullis, Slots, Holes and Multigroove. Custom designs and sizes are also available.
Big River Panels can also create customised versions of the Prestige tiles to fulfil any project requirements and can rout to custom sizes as well as creating cut outs for sprinklers, lights or any other service penetrations required.
